Huge questions

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
After a tonsil/adenoid removal did you notice any white areas on the back of the tongue on the side?

During our post-op appointment for Marcus, I was given several information sheets that included numbers to call if I had any questions or suspected something was wrong.
A week after his surgery I now have questions, and every number I've called has transfered me at least once, and sounded amazed that I would be given *their* number.
Finally someone told me that no one would talk to me over the phone I have to bring him in.

I had to hold Marcus down to get him to take his medicine today, and it took me 34 minutes to get it into him. I'm taking him to the ER as soon as I take the Mat out.

Drained

It isn't even 3 in the afternoon and I'm exhausted.

My mom came down last week to help me out with Marcus' surgery, which went well. The ENT was amazed by the size of his adenoids. No wonder the poor guy couldn't breathe. We're on day 5 post-op and Marcus is still pretty tired and cranky. He's tired of taking sips of fluid throughout the day, and it's becoming a fight to keep him hydrated.
I've been giving him his meds around the clock religiously. 4-6 hours during the day and 4 hours at night. We've already finished one of the two bottles of meds they gave us. Yesterday I wrapped him up in my Gyspymama wrap and carried him for about an hour while he dozed. My hips are now reminding me that it wasn't the best idea.

My mom left today. Marcus and I cried together about missing her. Then we cuddled on the papasan chair for a few minutes until he fell asleep. 3 hours later, he's still asleep.
I need to do laundry, and mop all my floors, but instead I've been on LJ catching up on past posts. It funny how quickly things can change. Last year I never seemed to go more than 2-3 days without checking LJ and my email and now I go weeks. I don't mean to, but the days start blending together.
